Our History

Playrite began in 1993 under the direction of Kieth Simmons, with a focus on resurfacing and constructing tennis and basketball courts. Playrite completed many projects and filled a niche role in the landscaping market. Our first steps into the artificial grass space were in 1999 when we were tasked with installing several synthetic turf tennis courts. The success of this project prompted us to explore this budding industry further. We made our commitment to providing artificial grass in 2004 after installing our first residential backyard putting green. We’ve been pressing the envelope on artificial grass and delighting customers ever since.

We serve beloved communities across all of East Tennessee. In thriving downtown Knoxville, we’ve enhanced commercial and residential areas with everything from balcony turf to artificial playground grass. The Playrite community enjoys the benefits of time and money saved and year-round greenery.
