General
Every project is custom to our clients’ preferences and space. There are a lot of variables that go into an artificial grass application. Typically, landscape turf projects range from $8-$15 per sq/ft and putting green projects somewhere between $18-$25 per sq/ft.
Yes, during the summer months, your synthetic turf will get hot. On average, the turf will be 15- 20 degrees warmer than ambient temperatures. So if it is 90º in the sun, the turf could be 105-110º. This is on par with the heat retention of other surfaces like sand, asphalt, or stone pavers.
Absolutely. Pets love artificial turf.
Most synthetic turf installs will take about a week or less. If we start your install on Monday, you will most likely be enjoying your new space by the weekend.
We have been installing synthetic turf applications for 18 years and have not seen any of our products fail short of their warranty. Some of our very first projects 18 years ago still look great today. Obviously, use and care play a big part in longevity, but artificial turf is very durable and made to last.
Most turf will clean off when using a water hose. Some soapy water and a stiff bristle brush will usually do the trick for most stains and spills. If not, give us a call and we’ll suggest a cleaning product for the specific need.
It sure does, nearly all of our turf projects come with a limited time warranty.
Artificial turf is meant to be maintenance free. Most of the time, simply blowing the leaves and debris off the artificial grass once or twice a week is all you need to do. If your turf needs a little more love, just give us a call and we’ll come out and make sure it is looking and performing like the day it was installed.
Field Turf
The cost of sports field turf depends on the size of the field, sport type, site conditions, base preparation, drainage, turf system, infill, field markings, logos, and whether the project is a new installation, replacement, or restoration. The best way to get accurate pricing is to request a quote so Playrite can evaluate the field and recommend the right system.
Yes. Playrite can evaluate aging synthetic sports fields and recommend whether the surface needs maintenance, restoration, or replacement. Older turf systems can lose performance over time due to wear, compaction, drainage issues, infill movement, or outdated turf technology. A field assessment helps determine the best path forward.
Sports field turf requires regular maintenance to support performance, drainage, safety, and appearance. Typical maintenance may include removing debris, brushing or grooming the fibers, checking infill levels, inspecting seams and high-wear areas, and addressing repairs before they become larger issues. The maintenance plan should match the field’s usage and sport requirements.
The lifespan of artificial sports field turf depends on usage volume, sport type, installation quality, maintenance, weather exposure, and the turf system selected. Many synthetic turf sports fields are designed for years of heavy use, but high-traffic facilities need routine maintenance and periodic evaluation to keep the surface performing properly.
Artificial turf can be used for soccer fields, football fields, baseball fields, multi-purpose fields, lacrosse fields, field hockey fields, bocce courts, croquet courts, and other athletic surfaces. Playrite can help match the turf system, field markings, layout, and performance characteristics to the sport or combination of sports planned for the facility.
Yes. Playrite installs sports field turf for schools, municipalities, colleges, universities, athletic facilities, clubs, and private organizations in Knoxville and the surrounding region. Our team helps evaluate field usage, traffic levels, sport requirements, budget, drainage, surface conditions, and layout so the turf system is designed around the way the field will actually be used.
Indoor
The installation timeline depends on the field size, existing surface conditions, drainage needs, base preparation, weather, field markings, and project scope. A new athletic field installation or full field replacement usually requires a detailed site review before an accurate schedule can be provided. Playrite can assess the project and outline the expected timeline during the quote process.
The cost of indoor turf installation depends on the size of the space, existing floor conditions, turf selection, padding or cushioning needs, seams, layout, markings, expected use, and installation details. The best way to get accurate pricing is to request a quote so Playrite can evaluate your indoor space and recommend the right turf system.
Indoor turf can be used in gyms, schools, colleges, universities, recreation centers, country clubs, wellness centers, medical or rehab facilities, senior living communities, corporate fitness spaces, police and fire training areas, and private sports facilities. The right turf system depends on the facility, expected traffic, sports or activities, and maintenance needs.

Hitting Mats and Tee Lines

The best way to get accurate pricing is to request a quote so Playrite can evaluate the space and recommend the right system.
The lifespan of golf hitting mats and tee lines depends on the turf product, installation, usage volume, maintenance, and exposure to weather. High-traffic driving ranges and commercial practice facilities need durable synthetic turf designed for repeated swings, foot traffic, and ongoing use. Playrite can recommend the right system based on expected use.
Yes. EZTee® can be installed over concrete or a properly prepared natural base, depending on the project. The right installation method depends on the existing surface, drainage needs, facility layout, expected usage, and whether the area will function as a tee line, tee box, hitting mat, or larger practice surface.
Yes. Synthetic turf can be used for driving range tee lines to create a consistent, durable hitting area that stays playable through heavy use. EZTee® tee line turf is designed for golf practice facilities that need reliable performance, lower maintenance, and fewer interruptions from worn or recovering natural grass areas.

Playgrounds
The cost of playground turf depends on the size of the play area, site conditions, base preparation, fall-zone requirements, turf selection, padding or underlayment needs, drainage, edging, and installation details. The best way to get accurate pricing is to request a quote so Playrite can evaluate the playground and recommend the right turf system.
Playground turf provides a soft, durable, slip-resistant surface with a clean grass-like appearance. Unlike mulch, pea gravel, or loose rubber, synthetic turf stays in place, does not scatter as easily, and creates a more consistent play surface. Playrite’s playground turf is designed to be slip-resistant and withstand heavy use and weather.
Yes. Playground turf can be installed for backyard play areas, swing sets, playsets, and other children’s outdoor spaces. It creates a green, durable, low-maintenance surface that is cleaner and more consistent than mulch, dirt, or worn natural grass. Playrite can help design the turf system around the size, layout, and equipment in your play area.
A HIC rating measures impact protection and helps determine how well a playground surface can reduce injury risk from falls. Playrite’s playground turf systems are designed with fall zones and HIC ratings in mind, helping create a safer surface beneath playsets, climbing structures, and active play areas.
Artificial turf can be a safe playground surface when the right product and installation system are used. Playrite’s playground turf is designed for child-friendly play. Our playground turf exceeds national safety standards, is ASTM certified, ADA/ABA compliant, and consistent with U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission requirements.

For Pets
The cost of artificial grass for dogs depends on the size of the area, whether it is indoors or outdoors, the condition of the existing surface, drainage needs, turf selection, base preparation, and installation details. The best way to get accurate pricing is to request a quote so Playrite can evaluate your pet space and recommend the right turf system.
Yes. Artificial grass for dogs can be used indoors for pet relief areas, training areas, kennels, or situations where pets need a clean, designated surface during bad weather or longer indoor periods. Indoor pet turf projects need the right layout, surface preparation, and cleaning plan to keep the area functional and sanitary.
Pet turf needs to be installed with drainage in mind so liquids can move through the turf system instead of sitting on the surface. Playrite’s pet turf solutions are designed to support drainage and help control pet odors when properly installed and maintained. Regular cleanup is still important, especially in high-use dog areas.
Yes. Artificial grass for dogs can help eliminate muddy paws, puddles, patchy grass, and worn-out areas caused by digging, rough play, and repeated pet traffic. It gives dogs a cleaner surface to use while keeping the yard greener and more usable throughout the year.
The best artificial turf for dogs is designed specifically for pet use, not just general landscaping. Pet turf should be durable enough for paws and claws, comfortable underfoot, easy to clean, and installed with proper drainage. Playrite helps select artificial grass that fits your pet area, whether it is a backyard, side yard, kennel run, patio, or indoor space.

Lawns
Playrite’s installation process typically includes consultation, design, site preparation, base work for stability and drainage, turf layout, trimming, seaming, infill when needed, and securing the turf around the perimeter. The goal is to create an artificial grass surface that looks clean, drains properly, and fits the way you plan to use the space.
Artificial grass can be used around pools, patios, and outdoor living areas, but each project needs the right layout, turf selection, and installation plan. Fire pits and high-heat areas require extra care because artificial turf can be damaged by direct flame, embers, or excessive heat. Playrite can review your space and recommend the safest layout.

Putting Greens
Artificial putting green turf requires less maintenance than natural grass, but it is not maintenance-free. Typical care may include brushing the surface, removing debris, checking infill levels when applicable, and occasional cleaning. Playrite can explain the recommended maintenance based on the turf system and whether the green is installed indoors or outdoors.
Playrite starts by evaluating your space and understanding how you want to use the green. From there, the team can help plan the layout, grades, slopes, contours, hole placement, turf type, and surrounding features. The goal is to create a putting green that looks natural, performs consistently, and fits the way you want to practice or entertain.
Putting green turf is designed for golf performance, not just appearance. Playrite offers synthetic putting surfaces built for consistent roll, durability, and short-game practice. Depending on the project, Playrite can recommend options such as textured nylon or polypropylene sand-filled putting green turf, along with fringe, target greens, range turf, or tee line surfaces.
